General Cosgrove was interviewed on the radio recently.
Love his reply to the lady who interviewed him concerning guns and children. You gotta love this! This is one of the best comeback lines of all time. It is a portion of an ABC interview between a female broadcaster and General Cosgrove who was about to sponsor a Boy Scout Troop visiting his military headquarters.

FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
So, General Cosgrove, what things are you going to teach these young boys when they visit your base?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
We're going to teach them climbing, canoeing, archery and shooting.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Shooting! That's a bit irresponsible, isn't it?

GENERAL COSGROVE :
I don't see why, they'll be properly supervised on the rifle range.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
Don't you admit that this is a terribly dangerous activity to be teaching children?

GENERAL COSGROVE:
I don't see how. We will be teaching them proper rifle discipline before they even touch a firearm.
FEMALE INTERVIEWER:
But you're equipping them to become violent killers.

GENERAL COSGROVE:
Well, Ma'am, you're equipped to be a prostitute, but you're not one, are you?

The radio went momentarily silent and the interview ended.

Good story, too bad it isn't true.

1. You're a mean person to ruin a good story by posting that link.

2. You beat me to it.

I enjoyed it even if untrue. Put in any names you would like; maybe a Brady or CSM type, and Oliver North 8) :D

This reminds me of a story from one of Gene Duncan's sea-story books (if you were ever in the Marines, you know the ones I'm talking about).

A Marine Gunner (E1-CW04, not a gun operator) was in the PX with an unlit cigar in his mouth. A civilian worker at the PX noted several times to this Marine that he was not allowed to smoke in the PX, to which he replied, something along the lines of "Yes, I know. This isn't lit".

At one point the increasingly determined employee responded with "You have a cigar in your mouth, smoking is not allowed."

The response:

"Lady, I've got an ass in my pants too, but it ain't shitting!"

I really don't peruse Snopes that often, but is there a section we could refer the Anti-Gun PSH crowd to that debunks all their tripe about the evil done by guns?

Doubtful. Snopes isn't neutral on any political issue.

Anybody else remember that there used to be a copy of the version of this set in Britain hanging on the wall at GunStop's old, old location?
