Well, for me, "show a little restraint" usually means, "got any thumb cuffs handy?"

More seriously, I've actually got a thoroughly ("well" is a matter of opinion) thought-out notion behind this; I may be wrong, but . . . .

But that's for another part of the Forum, and another day.

The Coconut Charlie site is a parody, honest; http://planecents.net is a parody only of the "self" and "unwitting" sorts.

Looking and the original, then looking at Joel's alternative, it's hard to know which version is the actual parody here!

If the legislature ever examines carry training, the Penaz website will not be helpful...he appears to need adult supervison. Too bad.

I think some of the, err, less-than-wonderful instructors think that the threat of the lege boogeyman will stifle criticism of things like, oh, shooting "qualifications" with a laser training toy in a classroom (no, I didn't make that up) or ten-shot quals with a pre-loaded, borrowed .22 and a passing score of 60% on the paint on the grounds that -- and no, I'm not making this up, either -- that actual police shootings (you know: with folks trying to shoot or stab the cops, say?) have a large miss rate.

But I think they're wrong.

That said, yeah; I don't think that Penaz's website would be a wonderful exhibit in front of a legislative committee.

A couple of my co-workers took a class with Gary Shade, whose website at least appears non-neurotic. I'm rather unimpressed with their level of knowledge of the details of the Minnesota law.

However, they seemed very well versed in the details of Utah law, which I have to frequently remind them does not apply to Minnesota.

That is the theoretical problem about basing a class around Utah law for folks who live in Minnesota; I'm not stunned if it turns out to be a practical problem, as well.

And yeah, I think Shade's website -- despite some rather . . . remarkably, well, interesting issues-- is better than, oh, some I could think of.

Apropos of nothing, I'm working on the website of one Carlos Canopy, the son of the late, lamented Ella and Samuel Canape (the name was originally French), and proprietor of http://firearmsandwatermelons.com and the diet food company named after his parents: Sam and Ella's Canapes. Carlos is an interesting fellow -- he's the recipient of the world's first successful spleen transplant, and pioneered the use of the NERF simulator.

That's nothing, I hear Andrew will come and actually hold your place in the county jail until your trial date.

Kidding! Kidding!
