4-20-2006, about 8:45pm, call from male voice, caller ID number "unavailable".

Ring...ring...ring...

ME: "Hello"

DOOFUS: "Hi, I was wondering about those Permits."

ME: "Yes? Do you mean the Permit to Carry?"

DOOFUS: "Yes. Do I need one for each person I was going to shoot, or does it come with a limit...like a fishing license?"

ME: "Could you repeat that please, my digital recorder did not get all of that question."

DOOFUS: click

So, fraternity? High School? Or just plain doofus? :?

I've all but given up on the *69 thing. Every single time that I have tried it, which is probably close to ten times now, it has never worked.

Yes I know, I should maybe contact the local telephone company about this.

Actually, if you *57 a phone call, it records the time, date and number at the phone company, if the number is available. You then must report it to the authorities and they can retrieve the data and file charges, if appropriate. I doubt they would do much about a prank, but that type of call COULD be construed as a threat to others.

A call from LE to the parents or whoever should stop the calls even if no charges are files.

Now if Caller ID showed a number I'd just call them back.

I forgot to add that some phone companies DO charge if you do the *57 thing. I think it's a dollar.
