I try VERY hard NOT to put my feet or foot in my mouth because they usually stink !!! I can't imagine what they'd taste like

Enough. If MacPhisto needs banning, one of the admins --including me -- can handle it. Enough dumping on him -- even if, in theory, he deserves it.

What's wrong with being grateful for being statistically less-likely to be the victim of a senseless crime?

You're being foolish. Certain things make you less likely to be the victim of crime: living in a low-crime area, avoiding unsafe places, avoiding bad people, etc. Other things merely happen to be correlated with the above, but don't themselves have any effect. (Consider: who was more likely to get robbed, me or my black neighbor? We lived in the same apartment building, and rode the same subway to the same stop and walked to nearby office buildings. I'd say the odds were the same.)

So why bring up those things that merely correlate?

Hints not, apparently, having been enough, I'm going to lock this topic.
