and besides $796 for a lamp is too much. i could buy a brand new gun and convert it for much less. not that that is a great idea either.

Just load up that SP101 with 125 grain .357s -- it'll put out plenty of light.

Information from the web site. Quotes from the designer.

(I wanted to write something witty here. But...what can you really say about a statement like that??)

Philippe Starck wrote:
"A civilisation was crafted so that life could live. The great, beautiful life, guaranteed to everyone, surged and survived until today, the 21st century."

Shame about losing that guaranteed, great, beautiful life. I wouldn't be surprised if more than a few people in history, didn't realize how beautiful and great it was at the time.

Wow. Art must be deep...

And I though these people disappeared after the cold war. They just slunk away and started designing furniture!

Oops. Gotta go. My wife wants some help. Reality calls... I listen... I guess that's why I'm not an artist.

For that price you can buy a real gun instead of a symbol of what supposedly destroyed our wonderful life in the 21st century.

Sheesh, where do these bleeping, feeble minded, ignorant of history, idiots, come from? This is ART? Ha, Ha,

That lamp reminds me of a movie...

I think it was called "The Great Outdoors" with John Candy as I recall....

I don't know. That barstool does not look like something you would want to attempt to sit on after a few cocktails

Call me a nerd, but this stuff was on the geek blog boingboing two years ago.
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/06/14/more_gun_lamps.html

I think it all started with a cap gun lamp:
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/06/13/cap_gun_lamp.html
perfect for the kids room.

If you didn't want a lamp, you could get a vase:
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/10/29/guns_table_vase.html
the wife could put her flowers in it on the mantel.

If you didn't like the vase, you could make a tampon gun:
http://www.boingboing.net/2006/07/26/tampon_gun.html
for what, I don't know. Unruly sparrows on the farm maybe?

Then there is the rose dipped in liquid nitrogen being shot, captured on high speed photography:
http://www.boingboing.net/2005/10/20/liquidnitrodipped_ro.html
always fun to see this type of image.

Something you won't like, is the gun turned into a guitar:
http://www.boingboing.net/2006/03/14/gun_into_guitar.html

You've heard of this, the cell phone gun:
http://www.boingboing.net/2006/02/24/gun_designed_to_look.html

Theres lots more if you do a site search. Have fun!

Yep- it was the shotgun lamp in John's cabin. If I recall, he had to plug it in before he shot the bear. Love that movie.
