"Boston Legal" is a fun show, with a great cast.

But the promo for next week that they showed this week -- yikes!

In it, 84-year-old actress Betty White is seen firing a large semiautomatic handgun -- it looked like a .45 -- one-handed.

This frail old dear managed to do so with the hammer down, with no recoil, no muzzle flip and no slide cycling.

There was, on the other hand, a most impressive muzzle flash.

Are the stage armorers just getting lazy?

OOOH nearly forgot, last weeks CSI New York had magnetic bullets; yep somehow a MRI machine had manage to magnetize 2 lead bullets.

Not to mention all the 5-minute IBIS matches.

What I don't understand about gun handleing on the TV shows is when someone says drop your guns everyone just throughs them down, in the dirt, on the cement, on the asphalt. I would lay something soft down and gently set my gun down. I couldn't bear tossing my beautifull piece on the ground.

I think on one of the season premeire episodes of 24, Jack Bauer actually set his gun down on the ground. I was quite impressed. Of course, then the "bad guy" kicked it about 10 ft away. :(

DWCN, Yes, I have one!!!

I don't recall the old lady even firing a shot during her holdup scene. The gun did look a little BIG in her hands.

It was much funnier when Denny Crane (Shatner) got frustrated and went trout fishing with a 12 gauge. The guide was so mad he gave shatner a time out.

Can't agree more... great show!!

My wife claims I ruin more movies/TV shows for her when I point out the numeorus impossibilities they portray. She, as she gives me what the 'Souch' would call "the look", asks "Why can't you just enjoy the program without looking for all the mistakes?"

I'm working on it... Perhaps I'd be safe taking her to see "Sense and Sensibility"  where I'm probably not likely to be paying enough attention to find the flaws...
