A Wisconsin man is in trouble with the law for shooting, of all things, his lawnmower after it wouldn't start. Witnesses told police Keith Walendowski, of Milwaukee had been drinking before the shooting.

Neighbors heard the gunfire.

"Well it seems strange, but he's a strange guy with his drinking," said neighbor Donna Kadow.

Walendowski even justified his lawnmower rage by telling police "it's my lawn mower and my yard, so I can shoot it if I want."

But shooting the mower is a crime, disorderly conduct while armed.

And the harsher penalty is for the gun itself.

It's illegal to have a sawed off shotgun in the first place.

The 56-year-old has a totally clean record according to court records.

Neighbors say he's not a violent guy.

"Crazy drunk, you know. He would never hurt anybody. Just a lawnmower? Just a lawnmower, right. Otherwise, he has never hurt nobody," Kadow said.

The man could face six years in prison and an $11,000 fine if convicted.

Does this belong in the Stupid Gun Stuff section?

Must've had a slug in his sawed off shotgun. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of a sawed off shotgun?

Not sure how much trouble shooting your own lawnmower will get you into, BUT, using a sawed off shotgun is about the dumbassed thing I ever hoid of.

Everyone knows a shot guns bb's ant going to hurt a lawnmower. Unless you use a slug, THEN maybe you'd kill it!
