I had to go into the local Charter Cable office recently to swap out a defective set top box and discovered they have a ban sign up. Very annoying since they've got a monopoly on cable in the area and I picked them for the best connection speeds (vs DSL) as I work at home a lot. I guess I'm very reluctantly using their services.

I've considered dish/directv especially since there's more HD channels. But I wasn't clear enough that I use charter for cable internet access as it's the fastest I can get where I live. If it weren't for that, I'd drop them entirely.

If you treated your customers as badly as Cable tv companies, you would post your office too........

Do like my roommate does.. comcast for basic cable/internet, satelitte for TV..
If you keep the basic cable, I think the overall price is cheaper then just the internet connection through them.

Edited to add: But, then again, you'd still be using them.. Never mind.
