The Fergus Falls Rifle and Pistol Club is now certified as an approved instructor training organization.

Chartered in May of 1933, the FFRPC is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the promotion and enhancement of the shooting sports. Paramount to the Club has been safety through education classes supported by the National Rifle Association and the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources.

Our Club has had many homes over the years, but in 1979, our current indoor range was built in cooperation with the City of Fergus Falls. The building is located at the base of Old Smokey Ski Hill and was designed to serve as a warming house for skiers also. Since that date, the ski operations have ceased and now the building is used soley for Club activities.

The Club is governed by a Board of Directors who are all elected from the membership to one year terms. The cost of operations is paid out of the membership fees and the nightly shooter fees.

The Club is open to the public for open pistol shooting and Junior and Senior Rifle participation. Open pistol shooting is available to members and non-members Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings throughout the year; during the Winter months if activity warrants, Monday evenings may also be used for open pistol shooting. Junior and Senior Rifle events are open to the public and are typically scheduled during the school months. Specific time and event information is posted on our Events Calendar.

The Club also has an outdoor range located just south and west of Fergus Falls. It is 40 yards wide and 200 yards long, and is used for many events, including Bowling Pin Shoots, Cowboy Action Shooting, Hunter Sight In, and general outdoor shooting activities. Due to insurance requirements, the outdoor range is open only to members and escorted guests. Other organizations may also rent the range for shooting purposes only.
