Post subject:  SALUTE TO THE MILITARY weekend
Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 10th, 11th, and 12th,

Keegan’s will celebrate our 5th annual SALUTE TO THE MILITARY weekend. Every member of the military and every veteran will receive his or her first drink free. SOS will be on the menu, all day each day, for just $3.95!

The pub is decorated with the service flags from the Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, and Coast Guard as well as the POW/MIA flag.

The fun starts with the Marine Corps Birthday on Friday, November 10th, continues through Veteran's Day, Saturday, November 11th; and concludes on Sunday, November 12th.

If you are military or a vet, come in to meet old friends and make new ones. If you were not in the military, come in anyway for the good times and to help us honor our neighbors who answered the call - and enjoy your 11 cent drink! Print the coupon!

Ahhh, SOS brings bak memories...

Err well, not... we never had SOS, it was beef porcupines or stomach grenades from Chernobyl Farms. :(

SOS. That qualifies as food only under the most liberal interpretation of the word food.

I never had it in the military, but I have had it. The thought of it...

I think the times I ate it I didn't have enough time to taste it. Shovel it in swallow and back to doubling (Running to the civilians)everywhere.

It's actually not bad if you get enough Tabasco on it...

Back then, everything got a good shot of Tabasco, unless you happened to be on a Chair Force base at chow time. Their food wasn't too bad at all...

I do miss the Chili Mac, and the Taco Rice & Cheese in Oki...

On 11 Nov at 1100 (11 AM) at the Vietnam Memorial at the capitol the annual All Airborne Midwest Chapter will be conducting a ceremony. All others are welcome.

My Grandmother made the best SOS - man was it comfort food - it is really good when done well - like breakfast stew over home made buttermilk biscuits.

Not so bad....

BUT I never did have it in the military.

I had it in the army. Once. Avoided it after that.

One time in the field, the mess offered SOS or Green Eggs and Ham. It was funny seeing the new guys, who had never had GE&H try to choose between the two.
