One bar I used to frequent suddenly had a posting and it was oh so ever improper. Beyond that, It was WAY in the bar, no posting whatsoever near an entrance or exit. Plus the wording was all off.
Oh well.

Carry in bars is cool in my book, if not drinking. Not a "control" issue, rather that if in the scenario the SHTF and the gun had to be used in a S-D encounter... I think we all know any trace of alcohol would be used against us. Sure, if under the limit it would (ideally) be no problem...
Me, I'd be ready to blow in that puppy... 0.00. Shut up and lawyer up. Straight up.
-- I know it's legal to drink one or, even two drinks and be under the limit, which is fine and dandy... I'd just rather avoid "one more pin" that can be tacked in the situation of a self-defensive encounter.

I eat there often and have never spotted any signage.

I've carried at my regular bar for the last three years or so. No incidents. When I'm not carrying, one of the guys in the group I'm with is. It's become a rotating "duty" to be the designated "carrier".
The one who carries, doesn't drink. It's that simple.
As for the opinion of the managment of the place; the manager point blank told us that he would never post the location-he only asked that we keep it concealed so that we didn't "scare the sheep".
There were a couple times where he asked to see what I bought on a particular day, and came out to my vehicle to take a look at it.
Nothing ever happened. No black eye for the carry community. No bad press.

The Carry crowd only gets a black eye when a permit holder drinks and does something stupid in a bar or elsewhere.
The way you're doing it in a bar is great. Designated carrier, I like that

Please point out to me where you were proven right?
As far as I know you have no factual basis to assert that he had even a drop of alcohol in his system.

I believe that there was at least one little nasty incident at Nyes in Minneapolis.

Andrew Rothman System Administrator Let me try this again then while keeping the original quote intact. Jim's statement: JimC wrote: The Carry crowd only gets a black eye when a permit holder drinks and does something stupid in a bar or elsewhere. The way you're doing it in a bar is great. Designated carrier, I like that
Works just as well when written this way:
The Carry crowd only gets a black eye when a permit holder <s>drinks and</s> does something stupid in a bar or elsewhere.
The way you're doing it in a bar is great. Designated carrier, I like that
Drinks aren't required in order for people to do stupid things and someone having a drink doesn't automatically do stupid things.

Don't try arguing logic to JimC when it concerns alcohol...
