The way I see it, there is plenty of room for competition when it comes to having more target ranges and hunting areas. Waiting lists at local ranges and clubs are preventing a lot of would-be shooters from enjoying their hobby as much as they might like. Some ranges which cater to the general public charge range fee's which a new range could easily compete with and beat. Some new opportunites would be most welcome, whether by zoning changes or what have you.
Will the ordinance changes increase the potential sites that hunting or a target range might be allowed? Or is it more just to clarify the rules for a person's own private land? Also, what is the goal for the City Permit that people will have to obtain? Will it be free to qualified residents who take the time to apply and thereby attempt to cooperate?
