I came across this on a shooters forum:
"You won't be shooting IDPA with an SP-01. It has the dreaded full-lengh dust cover. It does, however, meet the weigt limit for ESP, not for SSP."
There was also a link to CZ-usa in the post, which was broken, so I couldn't see what gun he was refering to, but the only CZ I know of that is close is the P-01. I tried one at Bill's show and loved it. I'm probably at risk for buying one eventually. Therefore I have two questions.
1.) Is the CZ P-01 legal for IDPA competition?
2.) What the heck is a dust cover?

The SP-01 is their tactical model and the dustcover is that thingee under the bbl that covers the spring .......................
P-01 is a whole different gun - I would think that it would be a great IDPA gun. Legality as far as IDPA goes - is unknown to me.

Thanks, after I posted this I remembered that CZ had some big fancy race-run, which I'm not at all interested in, but was probably what they were talking about.
For some reason I haven't been able to get on CZ's web site for a while now.

Just looked in the 2005 IDPA Championship Equipment Survery.... 4 CZ's were used in the match. 1 model 75, 1 model 75 P01, 1 model 75B SA and 1 model 85 combat... Hope that helps

OK, I got on their site again, and the gun they were saying is illegal is not the P01 that I am interested in. Thanks for the replies.
