Post subject:  Gun Show this weekend - Willmar

I apologize for the late notice!

Saturday and Sunday, December 9 & 10, the Willmar Rifle & Pistol Club and the Willmar Trap Club are hosting their annual gun show. 8am to 5pm Saturday; 9am to 3pm Sunday.

The location is new this year! It's being held down town at the city auditorium. The auditorium is on 6th Street, just south of US 12 (but you can't get there from 12).

You can take Trott Avenue from either Highway 40 on the west side, or from 1st Street in town, and go to 6th Street West(!) then north to the auditorium.

No offense to Willmar, but I think the MWCA show is this weekend at the St. Paul RiverCenter as well. MWCA's shows are typically huge. Lots of tables with plenty of deals to be had.

Hey! Start yer own thread! ;-)

The Willmar show is pretty small, compared to the metro and Hutchinson show. I wouldn't drive from the twin cities just for this one but, if you're out here anyway...

Standard rules of shotgun clearly state that you must be in view of the vehicle for the claim of shotgun to be valid. :D

I found this site (http://www.shotgunrules.com/) with some rules, but it seems to list all possible rules... I play by the within view of the vehicle rule. But, I think same day rules are universial.

Darn, now I'm guilty of thread drift.

I know what the rules are, but if the other guys don't, I might get my way.

If I make an ineligible shotgun call, the penalty is insignificant. I don't see that I would forfeit my right to call shotgun when eligible.

Sigh. This being Minnesota, "shotgun" can't carry a shotgun, but may carry any number of pistols. :)

Dean, I think that forfeiture of shotgun rights would be up to the driver. Part of the fun of driving is making your passengers do things in the name of shotgun. I think one rule was called "blood bath" (something like that), where the driver could make two potential shotgunners fight (for his amusement).

Andrew, good point. I wonder if we can change the long gun transportation laws in the name of "shotgun". (of course, we'd have to add extra penalties for shining to appease some people. )

Good grief! I've seen threads hijacked before but you guys take the cake!

Anyway, it turned out to be a pretty decent show. This was either the 9th or 10th annual and the best yet.
