The S.O. was notified of two moose that had been hit by a semi-tractor, with one still alive.

Here's what I found:

Moose Pictures

I dispatched the wounded one with a 12 ga. slug. The DNR allowed the RP's to take the one outright, and let them take the antlers off other as long as they moved the carcass away so others wouldn't call. The RP's were NOT the ones who hit the moose. (mooses?) The evidence pointed to semi involvement...

Sorry to bump a old thread but the pictures of the moose with it's tongue hanging out, teeth showing and the tow strap wrapped around it's antlers are just classic! The animal looks like it had to much to drink and his buddies tied a bandanna around his head or something.

Funny this thread got revived.

I nearly hit two more MEESE on Sunday morning (about 0300 hours) in about the same location on the highway where these two were hit.

I was southbound on the highway and they were running the same direction on the highway - in the other lane. If they'd made a right turn at the wrong time, I'd most likely be posting this from my hospital bed.
