I need to eat some of the cow we bought but I guess it's for a good cause

Hi all, The freezer is getting pretty empty, so it must be getting close to the time for me to start looking for piglets. Please let me know if you are interested in a quarter, half or whole hog. Raised the same as last year (fresh air, corn and soybeans, and what they can scrounge from last years garden) same price as last year $2.75 pound cut/wrapped/frozen and delivered to a meeting point near the cities.(unless suddenly the world comes to an end and the zombie hords advance or corn goes though the roof) Thanks to all those who were customers last year - hope you enjoyed yours as much as I enjoyed mine! I'm in for a front quarter. I might be able to do a half if it means no partial pigs left behind. can you remind me about how much a quarter or half weighs? When would they slaughtered? I think I just have one pack of pork steaks left from last year. |

This is true. Actually -- and contrary to popular belief -- the Talmud simply cautions against eating pork in certain restaurants. |

Put me down for a whole one also. For anyone who didn't get some last year this was some tasty pig. We have been rationing ourselves, but are starting to run low. Also, if anyone is interested in getting involved in Community Supported Agriculture, some friends from the Renaissance Festival have a <a href=http://www.localharvest.org/farms/M21667 target=new>Funky Little Farm</a>. Basically what CSA does is you agree to pay in advance for produce, and depending on Mama Nature's whims, you get a cornucopia, or not so much. I don't know for a fact that there are any subscriptions left, but here's the info if there are: 2009 CSA Subscriptions: I have some different options for shares this year that include one dozen farm fresh eggs. (I can state from experience that the eggs are <I>very</i> tasty. They actually have flavor, as opposed to grocery store ones.) I will be able to accommodate one vacation skip week this year per share. Please let me know if you will be out of town and if someone will pick-up your share during that week. If the weather cooperates there may be some limited early and extended share options available, let me know soon if you are interested. Options: 18 weeks/no eggs - $630 (same price as 2008!) 18 weeks with one dozen farm fresh eggs - $684 15 weeks/no eggs - $525 15 weeks with one dozen farm fresh eggs - $570 12 weeks/no eggs - $420 12 weeks with one dozen farm fresh eggs - $456 |
