They suck. I had two. I have one. You can have mine for free. You have to promise that you'll recycle properly when you throw it.

I'd have to double check the brand, but the look exactly like the ones I won't use, anymore. The electronics are slow, so you only get the first part of the bang before they shut off the mic. If you shut off the electronics, they are "ok" as long as you have plugs in, too.

They might be ok on an outdoor range with nothing but .22 being shot.

OK, I didn't want to start the bashing, but since some have, I will chime in. I use to own a pair and they seemed to get confused when I rapid fired. They would start to turn back on when I was firing my second shot and would not shut down, so I got an ear full, not pleasant.

They must be a hit or miss deal, some are very happy with them and others hate them.

I've got a pair, used them 4x and the right ear is dead.

Slight thread drift. I know money is tight, but I wish I could buy all the hearing back that I have lost.

I really am impressed with Pro Ears Predator Plus hearing protection. They do not cut off and go mute, the cut off the high db's. The gun shots are muffled down to the same volume as to the person that you are talking to, which is a real plus for me, I can still hear the go buzzer from the timer with gunfire in the next bay. Cheaper electronic hearing protection would cut out at gunfire in the next bay and then I couldn't here the timer beep. This happened mostly at indoor ranges, but a couple of times at outdoor ranges also.

The other thing that I like, maybe strange, is that at our local outdoor range I can hear the crickets and frogs with the Predator Plus. I haven't been able to hear either for years, my hearing in that range has been long gone.

If you can get dealer pricing, they are about $145 at Brownells and worth every penny, especially if you still have better hearing that I do and want to keep it that way.

Cobb, I couldn't agree with you more on saving your hearing. I use my ears and my voice for a living. I always double up with plugs and muffs.
