I found a pic I want to use as an avatar (from my machine), and resized it to 150x150 pixels like it says in the instructions.

Got a message saying, "your avatar must be less than 49kb". :?

What'd I do wrong?

Whatever program you used to resize the image should allow you to modify the jpeg's quality when you save. Lower quality settings result in lower file sizes.

And if you don't have software that'll do it, google "online image editing" and you'll find web sites that can do it. Or, if you're just to darn lazy to figure that stuff out, send it to me and I'll fix it up for ya. ;)

There is a free program called "irfanview" that works nice for this type of thing.
