Why is there no list of instructors and the areas they serve here at TCC? :?

My brother is looking for an instructor/P2C class in Rochester.

Hmmm........And I even spoke with Cobb yesterday at the gun show in Mankato, but completely spaced out the fact that my brother is looking for a class/instructor and that maybe Cobb would know of one. :?

I dunno. Probably because nobody's compiled one. You want to?

My own opinion is that a good class is worth a drive, once every five years. I only know of one instructor in the immediate Rochester area, and it's not somebody I'd particularly recommend.

It's not my opinion that Cobb is in Rochester, or the immediate area; it is my opinion that he's good. FWIW.

He is a good instructor in my eyes. I thoroughly enjoyed his class. Very informative and entertaining enough (videos & demonstrations), to keep students from getting 'bored' sitting in a class all day. 8)

Based on Cobb's website, he holds classes in Mankato, New Ulm and Fairmont.

Getting training for a potential situation that, if it happens, will become a pivotal moment in your life.....seems like a good enough reason to make a drive to the metro for a day.

Me, too. That said, while I'd like to say that a shorter drive to take a class with Cobb would be a mistake, I try to save the fiction for, well, the fiction.

That said -- and not talking about Cobb -- as I was saying to a friend earlier today, "of all folks who probably ought to consider a cheapie class, just to get signed off on, regular Forum participants probably aren't the worst candidates." Other folks, not necessarily so much.

By and large, by the way, most instructors will put on a class pretty much anywhere for those folks able to get together a group large enough (ten or better almost always works) and arrange reasonably close range accessibility. My daughter and I went on the road to Appleton MN a while back; we'd love to do that sort of thing again, and I doubt that we're unusual in that.

Two MADFI instructors have upcoming classes. Both are very good instructors.

Terry Campbell

Wanamingo Sportsman Club

Jon Abel
4/11/09
Pine Island White Pines Sportsman's Club

In the interest of fairness, NRA instructor Sue Bierly at the Southern Minnesota Sportsmans' Club also does a very good job.

I think you should take a "road trip" to the Detroit Lakes area. 8)

I will be having one in May or June in the La Crosse area. You (or your brother) can subscribe to my e-mail list if you'd like to receive updates.
