Is anybody else experiencing slow response from time to time from the server? It happens both while browsing and while just trying to get the site to respond initially...

Just start surfing at crazy hours of the day, like 1:21 AM! Server's running fine now!

Yes here too. It seem slow for me on a few sites, by far the worst here, but I thought it was either my computer or service provider. So maybe it is a combination of things for me, but it has been slow for me for about the last 4 days.

Yeah, the slowness has been intermitent for me. Most times it's fine, but every once in a while, I'll click a topic and it'll sit there for 60-90 seconds before the topic comes up. This has been on this site only as I get good response on all other sites. This has been going on for the last week or so.

It's a Dreamhost thing -- they tend to run the servers up far too close to full capacity before hanging new ones on the system and rebalancing accounts around. There's really nothing to be done about it. (I could move the Forum to a dedicated machine, but we're talking serious bucks there, and if we could raise that kind of money, there's probably better ways to spend it, anyway.)

Could move it to a host that doesn't do that sort of nonsense

The benefit of Dreamhost is it's pennies to host there. Would cost more, per month, to move to a faster server. Which, at some point, I would hope we have to - simply because we've got so many people on our (SANE) side of the fence, and on here!
