whenever I search I try to filter it and I still get a lot of results even with few or many search words any advice would be appreciated

Make sure you check "search for all terms" below the keyword field. If you don't, and you search for "target center," you'll get all of the posts with "target" and all of the posts with "center."

also in this example since you are looking for signage etc try narrowing it down to say ...the victim disarmament zone in the forums.
