BillBoards in high visability spots are a lot more than $6000 per month last I head, the one on the corner of Hwy55 and 494 runs about $45,000 per month. The pricing can be all over the place depending on the visability of the sign. If we did do one, I'd want it to be in a very visable spot, right next to a road that crawls during rush hour on a regualr basis.

As long as we're dreaming, I'd like a pony.

Do you still have the outfit to go with it though?

I declare this topic derailed ... my work here is done.

In fairness, Andrew did wish for a Pony :-)

We now return you to our regular programming.

There are new electronic billboards going up around the cities, a 10 second ad every half hour on one of these ought to be a bit more reasonable. Has anyone seen the pricing for these billboards?

Another option is one of those rolling billboards or truck billboards. I remember they had one during the State Fair last year that created quite a buzz.

I don't know the cost on a mobile billboard vs a traditional one, but it may be worth looking into.

In my business, we have found that we get a lot more bang for the buck with PR over advertising. Anybody know somebody who works for a local PR firm. Our outfit is on the left coast...

Much better. :)

Seriously , I am very circumspect about this issue when in public (despite my avatar). We do need to present ourselves as ordinary, reasonable folks.

BTW my avatar is a photo taken when geared up for a 3gun match which wasn't operating under IPSC/USPSA rules, where camo is (ahem) discouraged.

we could get a location for $2700/month (maybe a little more for a single vice 9 as show in the package.)

That may sound like a lot, but if 100 people on this forum chip in it is only $27/person. I'm in, if someone can organize it.

there are alternatives to a billboard that may be viable as well.

http://www.metrotransit.org/aboutUs/advertise.asp
Bus signs, both inside and outside.

We could make up magnetic vehicle signs, that could be passed around the group.

It appears these can be rented for $199 a week (maybe less if we shop around) if we had a location to park it.

And of course I'm sure there are other options.

Maybe a constructed trailer could be made for the cost of a couple weeks worth of rental prices, if we had some hard working people helping out. Then we would just require places to park it.

That said, this seems like an awful lot to fundraise for a months worth of exposure, I have to wonder if it is the most cost effective approach. I'm not saying it isn't, but it seems high to me.
