We've had discussions about Howard Orenstein running for a judgeship in Ramsey County.

Jane Ranum is running for a judgeship in Hennepin County:
http://www.janeranum.campaignoffice.com/

Anyone have opinions on any of the candidates:

Thomas R. Sheran
Paula Brummel
Cheri Sudit
Jane Ranum
David L. Piper
Elizabeth (Liz) Cutter

And how about the Supreme Court seats?

AJ3:
Tim Tingelstad
Paul H. Anderson
Alan Lawrence Nelson

AJ4:
F. Richard Gallo, Jr.
Lorie Skjerven Gildea
Jill Clark
Debora Hedlund

Inform opinions? Uninformed rantings?

I'm voting FOR these candidates in the contested races:

Lauri Gildea for Minnesota Supreme Court seat 4

Tom Sheran for Hennepin Dist Ct seat 53.

As stated in the other thread with regard to the Ramsey County judicial race to defeat Howard Orenstein.

The Ramsey County contest may be decided by as few as 2000 TOTAL voters.

I'd vote AGAINST Jane Ranum for any office. But as a judge?

I remember her remark on the Senate floor during the debate - complaining that the bill didn't allow sheriffs to consider charges for which the applicant had been tried and acquitted as evidence for permit denial.

She should have been disbarred.

Any opinions as to the candidates for Mn SC Seat 3?

-Tim Tingelstad
One of the key positions Tingelstad is advocating in his race for the state's highest court is advocacy of continuing to elect judges in Minnesota.
That's a GOOD thing.
Wears his religion on his sleeve, maybe not so good.

-Paul H. Anderson
MN SC incumbent since 1994
Don't know if he's voted for or against right to self defense.
Haven't been able to find how he voted when the Mn SC overturned the 2003 MPPA.

-Alan Lawrence Nelson
Claims his extensive world travels and background in computer programming makes him the ideal SC justice.
