Oh, we get it gman. We get it right up the chute. The message was sent loud and clear to Washington... DO NOT PASS THIS BAILOUT. Norm ignored the message. He is not representing his constituents. He can go home and spend some time with his daughter - she seems to like him. You must have read Norm's form letter about "hard decisions." There was nothing hard about it. The people told him what to do. He did the opposite. I don't want Franken to win - I want Norm to lose. Some seem to think that others don't understand the "hold your nose and vote" concept. We understand it just fine. Norm pooped on my kitchen floor, pulled up his pants, grinned at me, and said, "Clean that up. You still need my conservative vote in Washington." I have no choice but to clean up the poop (pay for the bailout). I never want that savage in my house (senate) again. |

I love it! So nice to see that some people want to fix things instead of maintaining the status quo. bensdad is the man. I'm with you!

If Coleman, Kline, McCain, et al. wouldn't have made the choice to take a dookie on my floor then they wouldn't suffer the consequences (of their actions, not my reactions) of not being re-elected. |

That is like placing the onus on the woman for getting raped, or the carry permit holder for making a 911 scene. The only reason Franken would win is because the majority of the populace place their votes with him. Blame those people. It is not because enough people didn't vote against him (whatever that means). If you try to look at it from that perspective, the Coleman voters are the ones "giving" it to Franken, because they didn't vote for Barkley. That's absurd. Dean's earlier comment about continuing to experience the tyranny of the two party system is ringing loudly in my ears... somebody... make it stop...

1st I do not care for Norm very much at all. He is a huge disappointment for any conservative that is the genuine article. I firmly believe that he was originally set up to be the fall guy when he ran against Wellstone. He was a competitor with Pawlenty going into the primaries until Cheney came to town. When Cheney left it was Coleman as the Senate candidate, and Pawlenty as the Governor candidate. They did not want Pawlenty exposed to losing to a popular incumbent that was very likely to prevail. They had bigger plans for Pawlenty; Coleman was to be a sacrificial lamb. Who knew that Wellstone would meet his demise? Barkley is eloquent and I do take interest in some of what he has to say. Lately he has claimed that he has been fundamentally against the bailout as it has taken place. But I disagree with many of his other positions, and I don’t think he can win at any rate. I have complete and utter disdain for Franken. I could fill pages with my sentiments about him. At the end of the day I will probably vote for Norm, and then I intend to lean on him plenty if he wins. Klobachar as the Sr. Senator sends chills up my spine. kecker wrote: Coleman is a sleazeball. I guess I am still trying to fix the Republican Party. The platform still makes it my party so I am trying to get rid of the ones who are not voting the platform.
