NEW DFL ATTACK LAUNCHED.
Background:
Quote: On Friday, Bachmann was asked by Matthews whether she believes that Obama may have anti-American views. She replied, "Absolutely. I'm very concerned that he may have anti-American views."
She also told Matthews that the national media should scrutinize all members of Congress about whether they hold "anti-American views."
This morning, Bachmann went on to explain that she is concerned about the prospect of having a "radical liberal in the White House" in Obama combined with liberal Democrats in control of Congress.
Bachmann added that what she believes are Obama's most extreme positions are a health care plan akin to "socialized medicine" and a tax proposal that would "spread the wealth around."

I heard this on the radio this morning too. They were saying that her opponent has received several thousand dollars of donations from around the country after she said it.
I personally don't think she said anything wrong, and her analysis was pretty spot on.

She will always have my vote, and some of my money. She is a wonderful Congresswoman and a staunch supporter of our 2A rights. From what I heard this is another DFL contrived issue. All anyone has said is people need to question the judgment of NObama for his associations and the media jumps to defend him. Ridiculous!

$648,00 in the first 48 hours I guess. More raised as we go. It's mostly because Collin Powell called her remarks "nonsense" and said the anti Muslim remarks were hurting America because it was being broadcast in the mideast.
There is a real last minute push by the Dems; they smell blood. She may not be a shoo-in as we thought.
She sort of did it to herself.

Indeed. If she'd stick to representing her district, and not spend time yammering on about whatever ultra-Christian/ultra-right-wing kick she's on at the moment, she might make a passable Congresswoman. As it is, she's a bit of a joke.

She was a very good friend to the carry movement when she was in the Minnesota legislature.
The RNC has been unable resist trying to protray Obama as black, Muslim, nutty Christian, foreigner, elitist, and a friend of terrorists. Pick your prejudice. Michelle was trying to be a good trooper for them and got hit hard, as handy example by Powell.
But I don't think her Republican colleagues will defend her now. Too bad. But she'll probably survive, and be wiser in the future. Hopefully the RNC will learn as well.

Michelle is one of our strongest allies and deserves our support. I hate to see her slammed on this forum.

Jesus Christ Dick, he is black, nutty, foreign, elitist, and a friend of domestic terrorists. Would you be willing to bet your life that he isn't at least a Muslim sympathizer.
We know Bachmann's history. Obama's missing years don't even have to be accounted for. He couldn't qualify for a basic security clearance with his past associations. But he's going to change the world. I'll bet he does.

His "associations"? Funny the RNC didn't worry about President Bush's association with Prince Bandar. And his oil investments.
Obama's pretty well accounted for. High School, College, Harvard Law. The RNC has information that he was then in Chicago, (remember the "community organiser" years?), then practicing law (representing Rezko et al, remember?) then Senator. He's too young to fit in anything else.
He's not my pick either, but the RNC smear job is what is disgraceful, not Obama's record.
Don't fall for the RNC BS. They specialize in making up phoney crap and appeals to emotion instead of loigic. It began under Nixon.
Look what this RNC crap is doing to Michelle right now. Eventually, more Republicans will speak out against this garbage, as Collin Powell did, and the party will clean it up. But not this year.
If Obama changes the world, it's becasue the GOP was too inept to stop it.

She represents quite well.

Having read the transcript I think Chris 'Obama sends a chill up my leg' Matthews was setting her up. Granted she fell for the bait.

Maybe she is representing her district. I think she is a joke. But I am not all together convinced that she isn't representing her constituents. I can't say too much, I am not one of her constituents.
The statement I just made sounds a little stronger than I intended it to be.
The odds are pretty good that the democrats are going to win some major elections. Rather than falling into the rhetoric of the RNC (friend of domestic terrorists, nutty, foreign, elitest, etc.) What are we going to do to work with what we have starting in January.
My personal hope, as a gun toting liberal, is to find a way to convince other liberals that we have much better fish to fry that taking away second amendment rights.
