Good To Know: What's American About Murder?
Reporting
Don Shelby (WCCO)

There was political talk last week about un-American views. One candidate called for a media investigation of some members of Congress and one presidential contender. Don Shelby said the candidate missed her target.

A couple of skinheads planned to kill 88 black students, decapitate 14 of them and end it all with the assassination of Barack Obama. I worry about people like that. I know they're out there.

People who think they can save America by killing people they don't like. I've covered them. They are, as a class, marginalized, powerless, uneducated, rage-filled and they maintain an insane sense of patriotism. And they are armed.

I want to say they are un-American, but my fear is that they actually represent an ugly part of America we haven't figured out how to change. Columbine, Springfield, Jonesboro, Dallas, Memphis, Red Lake.

The next president has to fix the economy, solve Iraq … the plate is already full. Who will fix the problem of weapons in the hands of warped and deadly Americans?

It is hard for some people to understand that perfect "safety" can only come with the complete, totalitarian loss of freedom.

I don't think those guys actually had weapons, did they?

I thought their plan was to rob a gun store to aquire the weapons for their killing spree.

We should ask DFL Don if he like freedom?

If yes, then it will never change.
If no, then it could but the bad guys will only be the government.

IMHO - Don Shelby is a 4th rate newsman for a 4th rate news channel.

For me POMPOUS *** best describes Shelby.

Kind of a shame that Shelby is a dem. I've heard him talk about hunting and fishing. I wonder how he'd like hunting WITHOUT firearms.

Unfortunately, their solution involves taking firearms away from all law abiding citizens, for the good of the children, of course.

Obama's "Brown Shirts" will put an end to groups like that. In fact I hear that he's going to save us all from ourselves.

I don’t know for sure but I did see a picture of one of them holding some kind of “assault weapon”. They must have had some guns I would guess.

There is no such thing as perfect safety even with a totalitarian government and a complete loss of freedom. Besides the general criminals that exist in all societies, the government can also become a threat.

Look at the Ukraine famine when Stalin forced the people into collective farms.

Yeah, I seem to recall they had like 3 weapons, I believe one was a short-barreled shotgun that wasn't registered, and two "normal" firearms...and the plan was to rob a gunshop to procure more.

That idiot (DFL Don) has so little credibility left these days, I doubt he even believes himself anymore. This is just more of his nonsense.

Absolutely correct!
Stalin killed something like 16 million of his own people with impunity. Quite a bit more than Hitler did.

It's hard to imagine where people like skinheads get their values. That is until you see pictures of Black Panthers blocking polling places in Philadelphia, and no one doing anything about it.
