In the Al & Norm senate race, Do you think Al will end up stealing the seat?

I do, he seems to be gaining, with Norm always loosing ground. I don't trust Al & his fellow democrats

You have a false impression. The counts have been going back and forth. In any case, the final results are not in the hands of the DFL, or of Mr. Franken. All that needs doing is to count the votes accurately.

Does Franken have a chance? Yes. But not as good a chance as Coleman.

Good luck with that . . . . .

I just read today that ALF appears to be losing 36 votes in Minneapolis because one of the counters believes they were counted twice. What a debaucle (sp?)! Some say to err is human, to really louse things up takes a computer. Perhaps this is true, but I know the following is: to err is human, to really louse things up takes an election!

It seems to me as of late that there is an influx of this in the last few elections, sans the election of The Chosen One. There are always a comedy of errors - hanging chads, missed ballots, improperly filled out ballots, etc. While I realize the truth to GIGO (garbage in, garbage out), there ought to be an overall accepted manner in which to conduct an election, with a clearly defined set of rules that frankly no one has the authority to override. If you can't follow directions and fill the ballot out properly, and this causes your vote to not count, too bad! Pull your head out of your posterior orifice and do it right next time. Filling in a circle for your vote to be counted isn't rocket science.

Sorry, I got a little preachy. I just don't get how such simple things turn into such cluster . . . . you know . . . . .

Well of course there needs to be in depth analysis to declare what the voters intention was....or "IS". As another shiftier individual said, "depends on what the meaning of IS..IS"

I dunno. My strong guess is that we've got the same proportion of errors as usual. But a couple of hundred goofs either way doesn't matter when a margin of victory is five or six figures; this time, it may be, literally, single digits.

As far as I can tell, though, the authorities -- including the Secretary of State, who is in his other life as partisan as can be -- are really doing a solid, honest job. Both campaigns, though, are full of it, what with the bogus challenges.

I very much agree about the campaigns. There’s a ton of tit-for-tat going on. The game is very much on, and while the stakes are just a little less due to the Chambliss victory in GA the other day, there’s still a lot of marbles being played for.

I think Normy will pull it off. But it still will be painful. The demos should drop their extra games past the recount because they won't get to 60 now.

At least Normy, might get scared enough by the experience to act like a republican and not spend like the democrat (that he is).

Norm has the votes. The only question is whether the senate will have the audacity to ignore them. I doubt it, but ::shrug:: you never know.

+1. We can hope that he will indeed make that change.

I believe for a GOP candidate this is the end for Coleman. He may win this time, but that's it. After that....Toast....

Nah. 6 years is a long time in politics. He might get to ride new Republican coat tails by then.

If he wins he is going to get a short simple email from me explaining, once again, why he should not have voted for the bailout.
