Doesn't really affect us permit holders but here it is anyhow.

1.10may be renewed in the same manner and subject to the same provisions by which the
1.11original permit was obtained, except that all renewed permits must comply with the
1.12standards adopted by the commissioner under section 624.7151. Permits issued pursuant
1.13to this section are not transferable. A person who transfers a permit in violation of this
1.14subdivision is guilty of a misdemeanor.
1.15EFFECTIVE DATE.This section is effective August 1, 2009, and applies to
1.16permits to purchase a firearm issued on or after that date.

What Minnesota really needs to do is ELIMINATE completely the redundant state B C and go with NICS alone.

I have to wonder if bills like this are introduced to counter other bills at the same time.

Here we have HF953 removing P2Cs from being used as permits to acquire -- forcing purchasers to have permits to acquire and renewing every year. And at the same time this bill extending permits to acquire out to 5 years.

I wish I knew more about all the positioning going on...
