Rep. Paymar has requested a delay in hearing this bill. As of now it is officially off the agenda for Friday.

Doh! Had this Friday off already too.

You have any insight as to the reason for this delay?? Public outcry?? Shoring up support?? He grew a brain?? Other??

No doubt it was because I e-mailed Paymar and told him he should be ashamed of himself and requested he withdraw the bill. I really did!

Ha! Thanks. It's even more likely he will try to get it into a more friendly committee or wait for a more opportune time like right after a cop or school shooting. But hey, maybe it helped. Hank.

Yes, thanks to all who have kept us updated on this pathetic attempt at legislating away our gun rights.

This is just a veiled attempt at harrassing lawful gun owners, which Paymar has his panties all in a twist about, the same way he's demonized smokers, another one of his pet peeves (Paymar is a board member on ClearWay, the anti-smoking PR firm feeding from the public trough).

Please let us know if and when further action is dictated.

Just as a reminder: there's no way to get more bang in useful MN-based activism for the bucks than by making contributions to GOCRA.

Word was they got about 1,000 emails from us and that scared the crap out of them.

Gun Owners got an atta boy from at least one legislator for being more organized than CSM.

Nice!

My most recent calls, once I mentioned the committee, were greated with, "your calling about HF953 Paymar's bill, right?"

The lines musta been flooded.

Sheesh. And that's without trying hard. I think somebody remembers 2005, when we shut down the (then) Senate Majority Leader's office.

I'm almost -- almost -- hoping we have to do that again.
