MINNESOTA: TAKE ACTION TO KEEP CRIMINALS FROM GETTING GUNS
Require Background Checks on All Pistol and Assault Weapon Purchases

Dear Minnesota Brady Campaign Member,

The Minnesota State Legislature's Public Safety and Oversight Committee will soon vote on important legislation, HF 953, to require Brady criminal background checks on all purchasers of pistols and military-style assault weapons. Please urge the committee to support HF 953.

EMAIL THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE TODAY!
"Support HF 953. Keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of dangerous people!"

A background check on all purchasers of pistols and assault weapons is an important way to ensure that prohibited people, like felons and the adjudicated mentally ill, don’t gain easy access to weapons. Currently, many sales of pistols and military-style assault weapons occur without a background check.

Here is what you can do:

1. EMAIL THE PUBLIC SAFETY AND OVERSIGHT COMMITTEE TODAY!"
"Support HF 953. Keep dangerous weapons out of the hands of dangerous people!"
One click will email the entire committee.

2. Forward this e-mail to friends, family, and colleagues in Minnesota.

3. Click here to contribute to our efforts in Minnesota and across the country.

For more information on this legislation and how to get involved in the gun violence prevention movement in Minnesota, please contact the Minnesota Million Mom Chapters and Citizens for a Safer Minnesota.

The support of the Public Safety and Oversight Committee is needed so this bill can move forward and move one step closer to becoming law.

Sincerely,
Paul Helmke Signature
