I was watching for you OC guys, didn't see you in the crowd. I did run into Ree, which was a nice surprise.

They said T-Paw will be at the May 2nd Tax Cut Rally. Would it be appropriate to have a "Fix Reciprocity Now" contigent?

For those that are interested or could not make it this time, I am planning to OC at the tax cut rally as well. It would be nice to have a little bigger crowd this time.

In order to be a little more organized, I will specify a specific place to meet up as we get closer to the rally.

For those that are a little apprehensive, don't be. Like ree said, almost no one even gave us a second look. There were no mothers running and screaming that there were big scary people with guns. The LEOs were well aware that we were present and did not even approach us. There were a half a dozen permit holders that approached us to say hi and a couple of people that were just curious. The media ignored us as well, which surprised me most of all.

I would like to have heard that someone said, "No, I'd rather keep it open, thanks."

Would you call a cop professional if he said, "Ms. Parks, please step to the back of the bus so you don't rile up the crowd?" Hey, as long as it's only a request, there's no infringement, right?

Jeez, I think I'm going to have to start OCing to the capitol.

That was basically the line I was given, too.

Good on all who OC'd. Anyone take video? I'd love to see a youtube like Dave Ridley does for OC in NH, but at the capitol in MN! I'd have been there with my rig on if I could have. It seems I can never get in with my boots on the ground for one reason or another. :?

I hope this is maybe spreading the message amongst those of us here who are terrified that someone might see your piece, call the cops, and have you hauled off to jail for doing something legal: OC really isn't a big deal. What better situation could you ask for than uninterrupted, open carry at the seat of government, during the very time the people are making known that they are displeased with the way said government is conducting taxation and encroachment of liberty? 8)

God bless MN, and God bless America! :D 8)
Maybe there is hope!

(For the record Andrew, I'd have politely said just that. "I prefer to keep it open, but thank you for your concern officer.")

Video? Anyone? ...Anyone?
Bueller? ...Bueller?

Is that you chunkstyle? Nice!

The guy in the first picture on the right approached us. He was packing too.

Of course, they messed up when trying to paint you as a "right wing extremist."

How about "enraged gun man"? Ok, maybe just "mildly annoyed"...

HAHA!

This is the first line of the story from the Pioneer Press:

Quote:
Hundreds of tea-bag-toting protesters staged a "tea party" at the state Capitol on Wednesday evening to express outrage over soaring federal government spending, bailouts and a sour economy.

WTF? Hundreds?

cmxterra, yourgrandma(from MNGT), djeepp and I congregated for some for some of the event. We also briefly met kecker and another Mitch. I was asked by a trooper to cover up lest I "raise the ire of the crowd". Between us we had at least 4 people approach us interested in our guns and I had a long chat with a guy on the way back to my truck. It was good.

I'll be at May2 as well.

PS: Someone with a "Permit to Carry Instructor" shirt could probably put some kids through college with a couple of these events.

LOL, I noticed you guys as soon as you arrived at the rally. The guy with the dreads on the bike sparked my attention. Didn't say anything as I was waiting to see how long it took people to notice. A full half hour before the first person standing by me noticed and pointed it out to me...since they know I have my carry permit.

Finally Mitch Berg and I had to come over and find out which one of the people on this board you were.

EDIT : Oh and no idea if you noticed but a very panicked looking trooper walked right past you about ten minutes after you arrived. I wasn't sure if there was a call for something else happening in the crowd or someone reported you guys and he was looking for you.

More than 300,000 people stood shoulder-to-shoulder across the country yesterday to send a clear message to both parties: Our country is off track and no one is listening.

And what's President Obama's response? A statement: "The president is unaware of the tea parties and will hold his own event today."

Dreaded guy on the bike is my recently 21 younger brother, he will join the OC ranks in the near future.
