 Okay, we've all established out street cred.

So how was the event? Was there any discussion of self defense?

What he said.

I did discuss it with a few folks, not in any sort of formal way, just in a conversation- that's primarily what this was, a barbeque with a lot of conversations going on. Future gatherings are planned in Jordan and Harrisson neighborhoods nearby- I can certainly post the info when it becomes available...

As for Camden, I've been in Camden for 7 years now, and it has been fairly quiet. This year has been different though, I'm not sure whats going on but I've made an average** 1-2 calls to 911 per week since April.

**Average, some weeks no calls, other weeks every day.

We've made progress in some areas, but have obviously lost ground in others. Street smarts in Camden used to be that you only got trouble if you went looking fro trouble. Mind your business, be friendly and you'll be okay, not so this year.

Most recently..

I still feel safe, yet I feel the need to be prepared. The Minneapolis Police are really awesome (I have a ton of respect for what they endure), but they can't always respond as quick as needed.
