I don't plan to carry either gun as a carry gun, but would like an inexpensive belt holster that would reasonably fit either gun.

Suggestions, other than Uncle Mikes?

Look at the holsters that our own Srigs makes. Leather, good quality and at a good price with great customer service to boot.

Nice holsters, but my experience is the boned/fit leather holsters generally are made to fit a specific gun and the G23 and G17 are different sizes.

I'd like ONE holster-to-rule-them-all.

They'll work fine with an open ended holster.

something like the old Bianchi black widow, which is just a belt slide holster that covers the trigger guard. ..

You don't want a cheap, fits-all holster and a 3.5-lb trigger. Bad juju.

I like the Blackhawk Serpa. Midway has them for $40 ($33 left handed) right now, if you have the discount.

A G17 holster will fit the G23 gun no problem so that would be a good way to go. Only difference in the G17 and G23 is the length of the slide.

What Srigs said.

I have one of his holsters for the G23, and it is fabulous (OWB - The Snap I think he callss it). Excellent quality. Without a doubt I'll purchase any holsters I want through SGH unless he doesn't make them. If that's the case, I'll still ask because he may find it worth while to make what I want.

I don't know if it would work for your needs or not, but I have an older Safariland 6295-83 holster for the Glock 17/22. It is right handed with basketweave finish. I got it from a friend that used it on duty (St. Paul copper). He updated to the newer style with the ALS system. It won't work for my needs, so you could have it if interested. It also came with an older duty type belt. It also has the basketweave finish and uses a velcro closure system. I don't know if it is considered a level 2 or 3? The holster, not the belt.

Let me know if you're interested via PM.
