Any experiences with ballistic nylon (good, bad, ugly)? DeSantis has one I thought was nifty with an additional mag carrier attached to the front of one of their IWB models for the XD Sub.
Always been either a leather or Kydex guy. Been shying away from Kydex though over time because it just seems to wear more than I like.

Nylons benefits are that it'll last forever, and doesn't attract moisture like leather does.
When you say wear are you talking about the kydex wearing or it marking the guns finish?

Are you tlakign a softside type of nylon dealy? They're comfy enough for beating around the yard with, but I wouldn't use it for a carry holster.
They'll have trouble staying where you need them to if you had to draw in a SHTF scenario.

They are a one size fits all that requires a retention strap to make it even come close to working. I have one and it is attached to the side of the bed with screws because that is the only safe way to use one IMHO 
In the end you get what you pay for. Leather can be better than nylon from a moisture perspective when the holster is properly sealed. Cheap bulk holsters that are not sealed inside and out have moisture problems.

Ballistic nylon can be hard on a guns finish. I don't know how it might affect an XD.

Thanks for the replies - Going to revisit a few of the local shops to experiment with some leather options (insert snickering here:). Have always been a Kydex guy - have the Comp Tac Infidel model for my other guns - though looking for more comfort overall. When I mention 'wear', I am referring to marking/rub spots on the pistols themselves. Must admit though, I tend to adjust the tension a bit on the tight side to prevent any sloppy unintended movements - so the wear I have noticed is most likely my own fault.

Nylon holsters can work just fine.
I have all sorts of holsters, but end up carrying often in a $12 nylon pancake holster from GunMate.*
It's ambidextrous, and has an effective, adjustable and removable thumb break.
The only downside is reholstering, since the soft nylon holster collapses when empty. That's a relatively minor concern; it's not as if we need to transition to handcuffing.
