Since I don't yet have my Carry permit, I haven't started collecting holsters. That hasn't stopped me from looking in the mean time. Here are a couple interesting ideas:

<a href = "http://www.actiongear.com/cgi-bin/tame.exe/agcatalog/level4s.tam?xax=6079&pagenumber%2Eptx=1&M5COPY%2Ectx=26336&M5%2Ectx=3595&M2%5FDESC%2Ectx=Adventure%20Ready%99%20BDU%20Cargo%20Pants%2C%20Lightweight%20Travel%20Wear&level3%2Ectx=results%2Etam&query%2Ectx=Holster&backto=%2Fagcatalog%2Fresults%2Etam">TOTERS™ PISTOL PACKING JEANS</a>

<a href = "http://www.qmuniforms.com/itemdy00.asp?T1=S58+486+03"> 5.11 Men's Holster Shirt</a> I looked at one fo these at Steicher's the other day. It's a compression shirt with a foam insert under each arm to hold whatever.

Anyone seen either of these in the wild?

Interesting!

There may be a niche reason for motorcyclists to carry a gun in the front jeans pocket, but that location is a little higher and farther forward than I would like for comfort, concealability and a smooth draw.

Still, more options are always good.

I laughed when their animated guy did the draw down stumble. He looked like he was DRUNK :-(

On second thought, maybe it's not funny.

I also wonder about their Demos. The scenario in the convenience store where the robber takes a look at the guy, dismisses him as a threat, turns his back to the guy and proceeds to rob the store. Yeah, not gonna happen... Then, the animated commando proceeds to aprehend the suspect. Now from the camera angle, it sure looks like the clerk is directly in the line of fire. The animatronic commando didn't even move off that line. Sure makes me want to buy their stuff if they've put this much thought into it.

I've carried stuff in cargo pockets before. I would think my 229 bouncing around back n forth as I walk would get annoying REAL fast.

Mostly-

It looks like there's an integrated holster. The whole shebang would bang around on your leg unless there's an internal leg strap I'm not seeing. The strap would make it hang and ride funny though which would be a giveaway.

Yikes, those videos are cheesy.

Note also how the "off duty cop" or "civilian with a permit" engages the bad guy at 3-5 feet.

Real cops know that distance=safety.

I have never tried anything like that, the concept of an item of clothing with a built in holster just doesn't seem worthwhile to me. Unless we are talking a uniform, nobody wears the same thing every day. A single holster that can go with multiple outfits seems a lot more practical.

Practicality? What ?????

It has nothing to do with the gimmick.

I think that would be a great option for someone wiht more $$$$ than sense...

$189 for a air of pants - you should get a Taurus PT111 with the pants for that price.... He says like a smartass.....

For the price and utility, none of them even come close. But, they are unique ideas and I figured if there's a way to carry discretely, the people here may have tried it.

1. They don't come with 36" inseams . . . so I guess no havesters (sic) for me. (If they say fits 34 to 36, what they mean is they drag the floor on a 34 and are "highwaters on me)

2. Whadya mean nobody wears the same thing everyday? I wear a pair of 5.11 in Black, Black, Black, Khaki, or Charcoal every day :!: I may be weird though.
