Not quite. It's the CQC holster without the Serpa retention.

Adding Serpa makes it $30, plus $6.50 shipping, which is still a pretty good deal.

The site has an artical on weapons retention.... still reading

PS: I love my BH cqc Serpa holster for my G17 :D

grayskys, I can't tell if that's a pancake holster being "lifted & grabbed "off of the victim or if the holster is actually being "torn" off. Do you know which it is?

Kydex or Carbon Fiber

For those of us that are newbies, could someone please explain the pros/cons of kydex and carbon fiber?

I'm also curious to hear more about this holster rubbing the finish off a glock.

Thanks to everyone who has shared their expertise so far!

I ordered one of the "carbon fiber" all it is some kind of decal to made to look like carbonfiber but it dose look better than the kydex, almost a basket-weave I do like it for my XD-40 fast drawcut down front but still holds great

Torn off, you can see, near the end, the guy reaching in his pants to remove the paddle.

Anyone who has one of these holsters... do you use the paddle or belt loop method to attach to your belt?

I tried one out today but liked the belt loop style attachment rather than the paddle. both have positive aspects to them.

thoughts?

Carbon fiber makes you go faster.

Or is that true for Hondas only? :D

Good to know I'm not the only one who revives ancient threads from time-to-time

I usually go with the belt loop, it seems more comfortable to me than the enormous paddle that comes with the holster. For me, paddles are nice if you plan on putting on or taking off a holster a few times within a short period (such as at the range), but for day-to-day use, once the holster is on, it's staying on for the duration.

I heard a high fiber diet makes you regular but what effect does the carbon have except to add insult to injury? :-)

A question for you Serpa (or Sherpa) retention fans:

If you somehow find yourself in a LTS/GBH* situation, and for some reason or another your strong hand side is immobilized, just how the heck are you going to draw you weapon?

* Life Threating Situation/Great Bodily Harm

I am curious, because I recently had an opportunity to participate in some training and this was exactly one of the scenarios. Needless to say that for some it wasn't fun.

Well, crap, I can't respond here because I don't own one yet ... wait, has that ever stopped me before :-)

Hope you have the paddle, reach around, rip it off, fumble, fumble, fumble, pray...

It can be done, but there's a line between retention and access... Each situation and scenario requires a different place on the line.

See the video, and then throw away the paddle part of the holster.

The problem is for all retention holsters. I carry one on the other side too. Problem solved.

There was a thread awhile back talking about what you carry on a day to day basis. I found it very odd that there were not more people who carried more then one pistol or knife.
