Apart from a few of us skiers. how many of us have fallen over in the last five years?
I cannot think of a single time when not on skis.

I have almost bought it a couple times in the last two days, but I have been wearing slippery shoes and walking on ice or packed snow.

I walk to work. I have fallen two or three times in the past three years or so since I started doing this. Once flat on my back and the back of my head hit the sidewalk. (I can hear people saying that would explain some things.) Once on my ass. Once on my knees.

Sure.
But then I'm quite active and generally falling when engaged in acivities that should prove a challenge to most folks' physical agility (none of them involving the usual winter sports, oddly). Falling isn't the problem, rather, the manner in which you land often is.

I slipped on the slanted icy apron of my garage door last winter and did that nice move where your feet go under the car and you bang your shins on th rocker panel, then land on your ass. My 1911 stayed right where it belonged -- this is my unpaid endorsement for the Comp-Tac CTAC IWB holster.

I have not bit the dust (or ice) in a long time. My wife holds on to me when on ice. I use to ski and play hockey so I'm good with snow and ice!

Many years ago I twisted my ankle. The Doctor told me I should have a cast placed on by ankle. I declined. Later I found out that if you don't, the ankle will be weak and have a tendency to sprain often. Thant's exactly what happens to me now.

I fell about 5-6 years ago carrying a full rack of 1/2'' drive short and long sockets, 10mm-24mm. I had something else in my other hand. Icy parking lot with fresh snow on it. I went up came down and landed on my elbow. Slightly after landing I got hit in the head with about 6 sockets.

Broomball last weekend gave me some nice bruises to show off.
Those who answered Can't remember falling are either not very active or lying.

I was walking at college and was behind 3 chubby women. They were slow so I went around them and stepped on a slightly slanted sidewalk with icy snow on it and I went horizontal about 3 feet off the ground. I landed square on my neck and shoulders. It was between classes so I think there were 100 or so students walking right there. I recall gasping like a girl when I landed.
Morale of the story: Never pass slow chubby chicks in the winter when there are over 100 people around.
I could of landed on them...
