Well I have been lurking here for a while, soaking up as much info as I can. Just finished my first holster for a friend and thought it came out pretty good for a first timer but am eagerly awaiting for all you real holster makers to lend me your opinions.

Looking real good Bob!

I also like the piece! I have one with the black slide.

Bob,
That is a GREAT first holster. The stitching is strait and the molding is detailed. Have you done other leather work in the past?

Seriously, you made a great holster

I'm going to have to call foul on this one...

No way this is someones first holster...

Unless, as was suggested, you are already skilled in working leather.

At any rate, that is a great looking rig.

Wow,
Thanks, yes, it is my Bersa .380. My neighbor has the same pistol so he didn't have to give up his gun for me to mold.
No, I have never done leather work before, I am pretty good with my hands though. Been into wood, carving and such for a long time. I really have to say that unless for this board, I would not have been able to get as good a out come. I am a pretty good photographer so the holster probably looks better in the pic than real life. I should have taken the advice someone gave about cutting your fingernails real short. I need to figure out how to get out those little impressions in the leather EVERYTHING makes
I scanned my gun on my scanner, then pulled it into a cad program. Drew the outline and used that to do the patteren and stitching layout.

If you guys don't mide, I have a few question about doing a holster where all the molding is on the front...?

Thanks again, great forum.

ps. I don't want to mislead anyone, I did practice stitching, using a groover, overstitch wheel, edging, molding on scrap leather first, LOTS. It's not like I picked up a hunk of leather and just got this right out of the gate.

Well, it could be beginner's luck? :)

Nah. Terrific-looking, and I'm looking forward to your next efforts, as well.

That looks wicked cool even if you have made hundreds of them. How is it in use? Looks very functional. Did you draw the pattern your self or use a different holster? GOOD JOB.

Great job, I admire someone with great patience.I'm certain the stitching wheel and a careful layout is the answer. The molding is very detailed also. Maybe I missed it, but what was your question about single sided holsters? If you need to borrow one for a pattern get in touch with me as I have a couple of them. I find these a little more comfortable.

That is beautiful work.
Did you start with dyed leather or color it yourself?

Would you consider offering matching stitching if you started selling holsters?
