I suspect that with this sort of holster, you really want at least a 4-inch tube. Me, I'm tempted to get it as an alternative when carrying my 629, although the holster it came with is really very good.

Wow. I emailed Brian Hoffner asking and within minutes got this response about it:

The short barrel is no problem because it has a stabilizer extension. I
am out of the country and do not have any photos but I can assure you
that it works as nice for a J frame as it does for larger frames.
Thanks,
Hoff
Very, very cool.

FYI, Luis (Brian's partner?) just called me to explained how his Taurus 85 fits in a Miurage. He says the cylinder sits just above the snaps so it isn't under the belt at all, and that it holds it very snuggly. He is a tactics trainer and says the gun stays put even when jumping around, running, crawling, etc.

Hmmm... I'm starting to think that this may be a potential candidate for strongside appendix carry, which I've been thinking about quite a lot lately.

(I've actually been carrying the SP101 sans holster in the appendix position for a couple of months now, in situations where I know I'm going to retain a covering garment. It's not something I'd recommend to newbies, but I'd spent a fair amount of time thinking about it and then some more time with a you-might-barely-believe-how-many-times-but-you'd-have-to-count-high checked unloaded gun before I tried it.)

describe apendix carry a little more for me. I just have been carrying a little and all i have right now is a bianchi accumold owb thumb break it is a little hard to conceal that and i feel a bit nervous going into places so i mostly secure it in the car before i go in anywhere and i think it is a value for me to get something to conceal considering i have only had my permit for about 1 month or so. thanks

Appendix carry is IWB at between the 1:30 and 2 o'clock positions. Basically between the first belt loop and and the inside edge of your pocket.

Appendix works very well for a snubby or a small frame pistol. It helps to have less of a gut. ;)

A good belt is still required.
