Can anyone recommend pants, jeans or dress slacks that have a 2" belt loop width. I have a Rafters 2" belt and no pants that fit it.

Cancel my post fellas, I just went back to the Rafters webpage and noticed that they only make 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" belts. Looks like I'll be warmer afterall. As far as the previous post, I'm waiting for Heller vs DC to finish up then I'm carrying a howitzer.

My experience is that when wearing jeans or casual pants that 1 1/2" belts work best. For dress wear most suit pants will not accomodate a belt bigger that 1 1/4" (and would look kind of odd with a wider belt). I would highly recommend a purpose built (gun) belt. Makes all the difference in the world. Especially if you are wearing the narrower width belt.

I can barely fit my 1.5 belts through many of my pants ... 2.0 would be hopeless! Good luck !

1.5" helps with holding pants + other stuff up. I think it looks a bit too big with kakis.

I have always worn a 1.5" belt and I am only 5'7" so it should look like a girdle on me but I have never noticed it and my wife doesn't ever mention it.

I wear Lee and Levis jeans and have always worn a Bianchi 1 3/4 belt with no problem.

Most mag holders and holsters won't accept >1.5" belt.

You severely limit your selection by going > 1.5".

I wouldn't go so far as to say that. Most holsters that come with 1.5" slots have room left between the stiches to cut out leather for a 1.75" belt. And most Kydex I've seen has adjustable slots all the way up to 2".

I once bought a 1.75" belt. I took it home and none of my holsters and mag holders fit. I tried several kydex slot holsters, several clip/j-hook style, and leather slot holsters. None of them fit.

I wouldn't choose to buy a belt >1.5" and hassle with finding holsters or modifying holsters (not a good idea anyway). I'd buy a 1.5" belt and know that most everything out there will work for you.

I'll contradict on that, all of my holsters (safari land, fobus, trippleK, uncle mikes) fit with my 1.75" belt. I also have a 1.5" bianchi gun belt that I'll use with my trippleK gp100 combo, just cause its pretty and comfy together. I even have a fancy G&G dress belt that's 1.25". The only holster that seems to work for carp with it is my el-cheapo uncle mike's IWB and my K-T P3-AT.

I do find though, that when I use the narrower belt in a holster with the larger 1.75" loops, it allows for the holster to shift and cant while drawing and that can cause hang ups when you need it least. The Safari Land’s information that's included even warns of this scenario.

All in all, I guess I would just suggest having a belt that works with the holster that you like.

If your pants don't work with a wider belt, it's either time to find different pants, or a different belt/holster combo on a skinnier platform.

Don't forget that it's actually pretty cheap to have a taylor make your belt loops wider. I'm thinking along the lines of <$10.
