Alrighty guys.... I'm still runnin around with my Springfield Loaded Champion 1911.

I'm currently carrying it in a cheap, strong side holster. I normally carry SOB, and I will probably continue to do so, but I'd like more options.

My "good" holster is a K&D Holsters Cochese Defender, IWB/OWB. Yes I/O because it can be set up with the clips on either side. The problem is.... my build. The Cochese Defender as an OWB, strong side holster is OK, but it litterally covers me from my wallet to over my front pocket. I only wear a 32'' waist pant, and I NEED a belt with them.

So, since my 1911 is my only carry gun, what holster is easy to conceal, comfortable to wear, but will fit my scrawny waist? IWB or OWB, I'd prefer OWB for a strong side because of my pointy hips.

Is this something that I may have to visit Srigs and maybe have custom built?

Of my line the Quick Change and Double Clip are my favorites for IWB holsters.

The Quick Change would work well because of the thinner profile of the holster for a full size 1911 IMHO but the Dbl Clip works well for large guns and spreads out the weight and makes it stable.

I'd suggest taking a look at our Maverick Defender then. I'm smaller than you, and that's my favorite holster. It's also an IWB/OWB type of holster. It's compact without a lot of extra leather. It's adjustable with respect to the cant - you can wear it from the sob area around to a cross-draw.







The belt I'm wearing is an old single layer belt. When worn with a true gun belt, there's no "sag" on the part of the belt.

That's maybe slightly smaller than the holster I have now. That holster doesn't fit around my hip very well.

I wear it at the 5:00 position. I own two. They are the most comfortable holsters I've ever owned (and I've owned a bunch).

is quite comfortable. I just can't bring it around that far without it making a DRASTIC flex and additional force on my hip that leaves my hip sore.

Are you wearing your holster at the 3:00 position?

Either 6 o'clock or 3 is what I'm trying for. Anything between 6 and 3 becomes uncomfortable.

I wish my digital camera worked....I'd take a couple pictures of the way they sit, and the problems I'm having....

I can't go 3-5 because of my pointy hip bone, everything IWB seems to dig in. No big deal right...just go OWB. BUT I need the concealment.

Cabelas in Rogers had a couple SOB Right handed holsters on the rack this afternoon when I was there.
