I had an usual sensation the last time I used my serpa holster. I felt the gun move, and it was not a good feeling. After an investigation, I determined that the gun is still secure and will not fall out, however the gun has about 1/8" of play at the top of the holster. I didn't see any plastic inside the holster that appeared worn away, chewed up, or anything like that.

My theory is I tried out a new belt that night that is quite stiff, I'm guessing there was more pressure than usual on the holster from the butt of the gun digging into the seat of my car.

Am I imaging this new found wiggle-room, or is this normal for a serpa? I did not like the feeling of the gun moving around at all.

1/8 should not be a big deal and might be completely necessary for you to pull the gun. So, keep an eye on it but I would not worry about it short term.

The SERPA's do have tention screws (Last time I checked, mine did, but maybe it coudl be a different version). Try tightening them.

It's been my experience with the Serpas that there is a bit of "play"in them, as the lock handles the retention in the holster, with no friction.

Of course that should have read "unusual sensation" but I'm glad everyone figured out what I'd meant.

I appreciate the feedback. I don't use the serpa that often, probably a dozen times, but this last time was the first time I'd felt it move.

I didn't know the serpa had tension adjustments, I'll give that a try.

Thanks!

I know your looking at the play between the gun and holster but are you sure that with the new stiff belt the belt adjustment screw didn't move and that's what you felt?
