I guess swat isn't the only one busting in the wrong door. Good thing there's modern technology like GPS units and stuff.

HAMILTON –– Firefighters are apologizing after mixing up street addresses during a training exercise in Hamilton and smashing down the wrong door.

Deputy Fire Chief Greg Robbins said he directed firefighters Friday to what he thought was a vacant, city-owned home in the 800 block of Second Street to run training drills.

Instead the crew broke down the door at the home of Mike and Cathy Grosse, causing $1,000 in damage.

Cathy Grosse was out shopping with her four children and other family members at the time and her husband was at work, where he got the call about the mistake.

"It was the kind of thing that is a really bad joke, until you see that it's really true," Grosse told the Hamilton Pulse-Journal.

Grosse said the mistake was bad enough coming the day after Christmas. But the family also had to deal with a break-in by burglars through a different door in August.

The fire department was paying to have the door replaced.

At least in this case the "invaders" weren't armed with guns and flashbangs.

I'll give them a break because they are usually able to pick out their target houses by the smoke/flames.

At least they didn't light the place up as part of the training exercise.

Also, unlike most of the PDs that I hear about, they're paying to cleanup their mistake.
