Glynn County, GA. Traffic stop, officer notices a legally-carried gun, draws, aims at driver's head (Using a wierd sideways gangsta hold, two handed) and threatens to kill him (twice). Video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5S1rMA-K ... annel_page

Discussion over at GeorgiaPacking.org. The Sheriff did send a letter of apology (well, sort of), listed on the thread. http://www.georgiapacking.org/forum/vie ... ight=glynn

So Kimberman - do you think this could result in a tort claim? The letter from the department admitted what I would consider some serious wrongdoing.

What the hell is going on in GA. as of late :?:

This is one that caught my eye on Ga.packing.org:
Quote:
The officer, his supervisor, and the chief for not giving a damn should all be tarred and feathered.

I agree, for many reasons......

"Fire up the tar pots, gather the feathers, there's work to be done"

Georgia has had a shall-issue law since the 1980s, so there is really no excuse for the cop not understanding that this type of thing is lawful.

In Georgia, if the Sheriff likes you, he'll give you a real Deputy Sheriff's badge instead of just a carry permit.

You then have the power of the county. I assume that if you get sued, the county would defend you.

And I'd assume reciprocity would not be much of an issue.

I gotta make friends with a Georgia sheriff. I want to have special privileges!

Am I correct in assuming that Georgias law is like ours and you don't have to notify the police unless they ask?

That looks like a Center Axis Relock (C.A.R.) stance.

It's a close-quarters fighting technique that emphasizes weapons retention.

I've met several people who've had this. They are all guys with big businesses in Georgia. There is probably some good "reciprocity".

Just do not retire (keep the badge) as I do not think you could qualify for a HR 218 permit. :P
