Full Story
Post-Bulletin, Austin MN
A 26-year-old Austin man allegedly took a police officer's stun gun during a struggle and shot him in the foot Wednesday night, following a car chase.
Officer Ryan Leif was shot with the Taser stun gun in his left foot, causing him to fall backward to the ground, Police Chief Paul Philipp said. Leif then broke the wire connecting the probe to his foot.
Other officers then helped arrest the man, using a chemical spray to get him to comply, Philipp said.

If a cop can pull out a stun-probe anyone can! This kind of kills the "you should just carry a stun gun for self-defense" argument!

Morethan likely the prongs did not make a good connection through the boot.

I'm no physician, but it seems to me that the nervous system paralyzation wouldn't be as severe with a shot in the foot as it would be in center mass.

Poor spread of the probes, or maybe only one made contact. Tasers are great tools, but not infallible.

Or what Inca said.

Sounds like more of an "On The Job" category to me. :P
