I had a ticket like that. For a variety of reasons a NYPD officer wrote me a stack of tickets. One was for "car repair in the street". I put that one in front of the stack. The judge hauled out the big book, found no such law and tossed all the tickets without even calling the cop.

That occurred to me, too. Maybe the guy -- he's a lawyer, after all -- can afford some justice. I dunno.
