Off-Duty Cop Pulls Gun On Club Bouncer After He's Denied Entry

http://www.wpix.com/news/wpix-nyc-cop-p ... 5240.story

OZONE PARK, N.Y. (WPIX) - An off-duty city cop was arrested after he pulled out a gun on a bouncer who allegedly refused him entry into a trendy Queens nightclub early Sunday morning, police said.

Trevor Harpaul, 28, reportedly pulled out the firearm and began waving it in the direction of the bouncer at Mingles Lounge on 101st Ave. in Ozone Park around 1 a.m. after apparently being told he couldn't enter the club because he wasn't dressed in proper attire.

Witnesses said at the time the officer was donning a red hat, sneakers and shorts -- which is a violation of the club's dress code. He even flashed his NYPD identification to club employees in an attempt to get into the club - but to no avail.

The club's manager said Harpaul, who has worked in the 84 Precinct for the past four years, was extremely intoxicated and persistent with his efforts to get inside.

The gun he pointed at the bouncer was reportedly unlicensed and the serial number had been scratched off.

New York City police were called to the scene and later arrested Harpaul. He is now facing charges of weapons possession, reckless endangerment, menacing and possession of marijuana, among other counts.

I'll take bets that he will wind up suspended (with pay of course), found not guilty and probably find another LEO job in another jurisdiction.

Any takers?

Squeeze trigger, BANG, repeat. Kind of boring, but I never cared for drama.
