Police Mistakenly Beat Up Elderly Man, Son

Neither man speaks English

MINNEAPOLIS - An elderly man says he and his son were mistakenly beaten by a St. Paul police officer.

Gelle Hussein, 70, and his son Ahmed, 22, say police entered their home in the middle of the night without a search warrant 2:40 a.m. Monday morning.

The elderly man says police twisted his arm, took him against the wall and hit him a couple of times. His son was awoken with a kick in the head. Neither one speaks English

Police quickly left because they had the wrong apartment.

It began when a St. Paul Somali woman said she'd been attacked by her husband. For some reason the woman came to Minneapolis and Hennepin County Medical Center, and that is where the St. Paul cop came for an interview. She told him her husband hung out at an apartment building in Cedar Riverside. That is where a St. Paul cop went with two Minneapolis cops as back-up.

To St. Paul? Seems like that's where the cop should have stayed in the first place.

If they didn't have a warrant, would not every apartment be the wrong apartment?

Correct, it was the extra-wrong apartment.
