For those of you who missed out on the Minnesota Gang Strike Force scandal -- still playing out; none of the badged perps have yet to be indicted, well, for that; some have already gone away on other charges -- one of the great unheralded villains of the whole mess was Bob Bushman, then an assistant to Michael Campion, Commissioner of Public Safety.
Bushman's job was to, among other things, keep an eye on the Strike Force, and he did, repeatedly sending in glowing reports, all the while that at least some members of the MGSF were stealing everything that couldn't be tied down, and some that could. (And spending their Confidential Informant money on doughnuts for themselves, apparently having taken ADVANCED TACTICAL COPPERY: STEREOTYPES ARE YOUR FRIENDS.)
What, you may ask, is Bob Bushman doing now? Hiding out in some foreign country that doesn't have extradition with the US? Living in Albuquerque as Bob Richards, his new identity in the witness protection program?
Nah. He's running for sheriff in Sherburne County.

I'm not making this up, you know.
