Terminated after the stolen goods were discovered. He pleads "guilty" but goes around apparently smart-mouthing that he is/was innocent. That did not please the judge and the pleadings were tossed. Now the guilty pleas stick. Forty-two months stayed, one year in the workhouse/jail.

At least he is exhibiting behavior consistent with current police hiring standards … hey, that's a joke. A joke! Kinda.
